OK folks, so you know this already. Walking is good for you!

There is no better way of putting a concept than sharing a testimony. I’ve written about this a little while ago here.

Today, I led a NHS health walk. This is the second of these I have done. It is a monthly event that is currently taking place in Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey. NHS Health Walks take place all over the UK and are becoming increasing popular.

Travelling to work this morning seeing the clear blue sky, I got that feeling of….welll YES I’ll call it a feeling a euphoria! With music playing in my car I felt invigorated in the knowledge that I’d be out and about in the fresh air during the afternoon meeting people and walking along the coast. I sincerely believe that there is great freedom whilst being outdoors. It frees up so much emotional space and is a healthy distraction from the mundane routine that life delivers us. It feels a place to be spiritually free too. This is described so well by Robin Easton with her blog page, stories and video’s “Naked in Eden

The walk today was again a gentle stroll along the sea wall. That feeling of well being along with a healthy appetite at the end does wonders. I’ve often gone for walks when feeling troubled and needing to reflect. This has benefits of dusting out the mind and soul. Taking a walk when feeling good in the first place massively increases the feeling of well being.

Do you walk on a regular basis?

Are you apart of a walking group?

Have you ever considered starting one?

There is great benefit to the community by running a health walk. If you are in the UK are considering joining a walking group or want to start one, I recommend you check out information here.

If you don’t live in the UK, I’m sure there must be some kind of equivalent organisation where you are. If not, why not try starting one.

Do your eyes get really tired from reading as mine do?

Do you have trouble proof reading your own articles and get frustrated when you have missed a grammatical error in your content?

I’ve found a great way to overcome this. It is simple and very time saving. I recommend using text reading software. I’ve tested a product called Natural Reader. The voice produced on it is very easy on the ear. It is also very inexpensive. It saves so much time and effort stops that temptation to skip content, especially when reading an instructional article. You can just close you eyes and listen if you wish. Here is the link.

a morning walk is built into my daily schedule; it always triggers my creativity. I take a small tape recorder to capture my any worthwhile thoughts or epiphanies.

Walking outdoors is a wonderful way to relax and get some fresh air, isn’t it? I don’t belong to a walking group but as soon as it warms up a bit here I look forward to getting back out into nature and enjoying some nice walks.

I can’t recommend it enough Michelle. It has become quite a big movement in the UK. Thanks for your comment.
