Do Your Goals and Dreams need Spring Cleaning?

Some of us are working at our goals and outcomes at an early stage, some have moved on to later, almost complete stages and some of us may feel we have achieved a specific goal or outcome.

Someone I used to commute to London with a few years ago was a project manager in the building trade. He was responsible for finishing off large building projects and had worked on such buildings as London City Hall. The “finishing off” is know as snagging. A building will shift slightly as it settles, causing door frames to move and cracks to appear. All these need some attention post build.

Thinking of this today as I was driving, it occurred to me that the same principal applies to goals we are trying to achieve in our lives. Our goals and outcomes as we set the have a blueprint that we work to. That is the whole purpose of drawing up the process. Once we have achieved a element of an outcome, we will likely need to make some adjustments, some tweaking to iron out elements that are not quite right. This could be:

  • producing a website.
  • writing a book.
  • preparing a presentation.
  • making a piece of furniture.
  • decorating a room.
  • writing a piece and recording a piece of music.
  • achieving a degree of fitness (perhaps weight loss).
  • Proof reading an article before publishing it.

Have you achieved something recently that feels like a milestone?

Have you considered looking at it to see if it needs snagging to fix any annoying little elements?

As you know, I finally managed to get my free book sorted on here. I’ve done a little snagging to improve how this is advertised. I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to Suzzane Flo who helped achieve this (via a Skype call) and gave me some useful advice and how to market it.

Take a look at your goals today and consider what needs snagging.

It may be that a snag is stopping you from moving forward.

Do your eyes get really tired from reading as mine do?

Do you have trouble proof reading your own articles and get frustrated when you have missed a grammatical error in your content?

I’ve found a great way to overcome this. It is simple and very time saving. I recommend using text reading software. I’ve tested a product called Natural Reader. The voice produced on it is very easy on the ear. It is also very inexpensive. It saves so much time and effort stops that temptation to skip content, especially when reading an instructional article. You can just close you eyes and listen if you wish. Here is the link.
