What Is Really Healthy For Us?

A long time ago, a close friend of mine had quiet a serious heart attack. He was only in his early 40′s at the time. Whilst visiting him in the Coronary Unit of my local hospital, he told me of a conversation he had with one of the male nurses on the ward. Here is what the nurse said: -
“We’ve had them all in here. Non drinkers, non smokers, vegetarians, vegans, non tea and coffee drinkers, slimmers, health freaks…… yes, they have all died in here”
I can also remember a time during my school days when my class were involved in taking some elderly people out in the wheelchairs for some fresh air for an afternoon. I remember one particular man whom I was told was almost 100 years old, chain smoked the whole time. His fingers were stained with nicotene.
In the media, we are constantly bombarded with healthy living advice on what to eat and what not to eat, how much exercise we should take, the dangers od certain foods, periods food scares such as “mad cow” disease, contaminated eggs, contaminated fruit and veg etc etc…. Most foods these days are processed in some way shape or form. Little is grown truly naturally. With all these constant warning, I sense that a constant anxiety is created. It’s not really surprising. One minute we are told milk is good for us, the next we are told it is bad for us.
I am convinced that many illnesses are as a direct, implicit result of stress and anxiety. I wonder if the people mentioned by the nurse to my friend were so anxious about staying healthy that it had a negative effect upon their health.
I always come back to the matter of balance.

Do your eyes get really tired from reading as mine do?
Do you have trouble proof reading your own articles and get frustrated when you have missed a grammatical error in your content?
I’ve found a great way to overcome this. It is simple and very time saving. I recommend using text reading software. I’ve tested a product called Natural Reader. The voice produced on it is very easy on the ear. It is also very inexpensive. It saves so much time and effort stops that temptation to skip content, especially when reading an instructional article. You can just close you eyes and listen if you wish. Here is the link.
