I’m a big fan of comedy. For many years I have been a fan of Monty Python. Some of my favorite sketches have included the argument clinic. If you have not seen it, I recommend that you check the video I’ve embedded below. You see, there is a message in that particular sketch. I’m referring to the fact that therapy sessions have a time limits and boundaries.Just when you really get going, the time is up!
The most successful public speakers make good use of wit and comedy. It is a great way to engage ones audience. Laughter produces a feel good factor that allows us to relax and be more open to new ideas. It also makes the information memorable by association.
Steven Aitchison is using this technique to good effect in promoting his new Mind Alchemy course. He has introduced a little cartoon character called “George” who is seeking an audition for “Family Guy” and other similar TV appearances. George has come across some problems that are stopping him from achieving his goal. This has been causing George some frustration. He has sought out some help from Steve. These interactions are fun to watch and deliver a memorable message.

A man walks round the corner on a hot summers day and steps in a large pile of doggy mess. He sits on the curb scraping the mess off his shoe when a brutal looking body builder walks round the corner and steps in the same pile of mess. “I just done that!”
Ok, So are you still here and desperate for me to stop? Did you cheat and jump a few lines?
How many of you cheat a little when reading? I’ll lay a bet that some of you do what I do sometimes when feeling a bit tired and impatient. Perhaps some of the content in the article is painful to read and understand. Again, the reasons for this may be due to tiredness. It may be because the content is not all that interesting. It may be because the article is too long and you want to get to the point. It may be that the article is not relevant to you.
There may be something within the article that is the most important and life changing piece of wisdom. If you rush through, you might just miss it.
Here’s my confession. I’m guilty of being a little impatient at times. A useful technique I have for getting all the content of an article is to use text reading software. As a Linux user, I have free products Kmouth and Jovie. It works fine and I’m happy being informed by Stephen Hawking!

Testing it out online I’m pretty impressed. The voices really do sound natural and are pleasant on the ear. It is very inexpensive and to that end, I’ll be absolutely honest with you by stating that I have signed up to the affiliate programme today.

As you can see, I am in a bit of a frivolous mood again. I have spent some time in the last couple of days answering some questions on Yahoo answers.
Very roughly, there seems to be two types of questions asked there. The practical ones like one I asked there a few years ago:
“What was the name of the striker who played for Lazio (Italian Soccer club) in the mid nineties when Gazza also played? He took penalties with one step.
Answer: Guiseppe Signore
The other type of questions are often of a far deeper nature. They refer to questions about life. In the capacity of Life Coaching, those questions that are asked are answered with another question that can be described as rhetorical. I’d suggest that it goes one step beyond being a rhetorical question in its strict sense. It enables the the client discover their own answer.
The truth is, the questions we ask in that manner have answers that are already within us. It is simply a case of eliciting those answers by removing the blocks. It is all too easy to put those blocks up. Having a coach helps remove those blocks by re-framing the questions.
What burning questions do you have about your life?
It is possible to find the answers.
As a post script to this article, I state that improving your life by learning takes practice. Here is an amusing little poem written by a close friend of mine from my brass band playing days.
The Magic Cornet
” ‘Aye’ says the old shopkeeper. ‘It’s a magic cornet that.
It blows a dream with velvet tone, it’ll play without mishap,
‘That’s great’ thought the young lad as he held the horn with pride
‘I’ll win that soloist prize next year, I won’t even have to try’
But time and tide for no man waits, and so the big day loomed
