# BORN THIS WAY

How do you see the purpose of your life?

Do you see yourself as someone of significance or do you think that you are alive just by some sort of accident?

These are questions that cause all sorts of debate and argument, particularly with regard to “Religious” debates. I’m not going into that here. I’m just speaking from inspiration that has hot me in recent days in particularly in the last hour.

I strongly feel this is important for you to consider and evaluate!

The fact that we exist is the result of desire and passion. It doesn’t matter which way you look at it or where the energy of MOTIVATION comes from, it IS the result of those to key words. DESIRE and PASSION.

You may have picked up on my thought around this in the video I created the other day. I’ve put this up on the coaching page of my site. click here.

Desire and passion have ENERGY, both physical and emotional.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m no scientific expert. My words simply come from inspirational thought. It just happened!

The whole point is, are we going to waste the energy that is in us generated from the passion and desire that created us or are we going to make positive use of it?

It seems to be pretty obvious that millions of people choose to waste that energy on worry, stress and giving up on dreams and aspirations. We all have the opportunity to use that fantastic and miraculous energy created for us. It is indeed the ultimate gift in our lives.

Step up to the plate today. Hold your head high with the knowledge of the truth in the energy created for you out of desire. If you hold a spiritual belief, you likely attribute that energy and desire granted by God, or however you have the right to perceive “….”

Humanity is there to help.

To help friends, family, strangers, take care of animals and creatures, look after the environment, explore, gain wisdom, inspire, multiply, love…….. (I’m sure you’ll think of many more.)

Do you get my passion today??

What do you have to say on the subject?

Do your eyes get really tired from reading as mine do?

Do you have trouble proof reading your own articles and get frustrated when you have missed a grammatical error in your content?

I’ve found a great way to overcome this. It is simple and very time saving. I recommend using text reading software. I’ve tested a product called Natural Reader. The voice produced on it is very easy on the ear. It is also very inexpensive. It saves so much time and effort stops that temptation to skip content, especially when reading an instructional article. You can just close you eyes and listen if you wish. Here is the link.

The Trick

Last evening my daughter was not feeling very well. She asked me if I would do what she calls my “magic powers” on her.

Stress and worry is generally, or shall I say often (but not exclusively) responsible for illness in whatever form as evidenced here.

Ultimately, it can cause early death. There are so many testimonies of people recovering from illnesses. In many ways, this occurs as a result of having faith in the ability to heal. I’ve written about this subject before here.

The natural healing process, I believe, is enhanced by spiritual beliefs, or having faith. I use this word as it is described in the dictionary “Firm belief in something for which there is no proof : having complete trust”. It can also be described as belief in what cannot be seen.

With regard to my daughter, the process I used was to take her through a relaxation and guided meditation exercise and use affirmations. The keys to this working are faith and trust. It is a lot easier for this to happen where I am her loving parent. Faith and trust go hand in hand.

I am planning on producing a guided meditation sound file in the coming weeks that I will be putting online.

How can this be any different to any other guided meditation available? There are after all many.

You know that the introduction to my page is M E E T – Motivation, Encouragement, Empowerment, Trust. The bookends of this process are Motivation and Trust. They hold the inner 2 in place. I hope that you will benefit from the style of meditation I’ll produce because you’ll know me from my writing. You’ll have seen me on my video introduction on the page and will have heard my voice.

What do you do to help yourself feel better during periods of illness?

What do you have faith in?

Whom do you trust and why?

ESAA Cross Country 2011-578.jpg

There are those days when we are running away with excitement about whatever it is that we want to achieve.

When I started my current job role last year I hit the ground running. Within a few days I’d made positive contact with a fair few organisations and trusted in the process when writing introductory emails detailing my proposals, backed up by upbeat and honest reference to how the work I was proposing had worked successfully in the past.

Getting positive responses feeds energy and motivation. This works well, however the momentum doesn’t last forever. Thinking about this recently it reminded me of running cross country when I was a school boy.

On the word “Go” most of the lads would sprint off whilst in full view of teachers and onlookers, striving to be in the lead, anxiously looking round to see who might catch them. It wasn’t long before they would get out of breath, slow down and stop to walk. I used to start at a jogging pace and try to get a rhythm going. I hated stopping to walk because I found it hard to get going again.

Comparing this with trying to get through life with some sort of success, there are a few pointers here.

  • Sprinting off ahead at the beginning is fine to do provided we can anticipate a period when we will slow down to catch our breath or even stop for a brief period.
  • Take the simplest path. There’s no use running through quagmire of mud when there is a less energy sapping path by the side. Stay focussed.
  • Keep moving forward. You can catch your breath without stopping completely even at a slow walking pace.
  • Don’t give too much focus to how others are getting on. Be aware of them and perhaps use them as pace makers, but don’t waste too much energy by trying to emulate. You are likely at a different stage in your journey. You can catch them later.
  • Don’t give up. You’ll just be left out in the wilderness.
  • Find a pace and rhythm that has everything synchronised.
  • Finally, it doesn’t really matter if you are not first to get to the destination,  just so long as you get there eventually. The joy is in the achievement.

I’ve been writing articles on a regular basis, pretty much every day now for almost 4 months. Part of what keeps me going comes down to connecting with people by giving and receiving feedback. Many people write about all the widgets and strategies we can use to help get more exposure. I use some of those. My experience is that the widgets alone won’t make all the difference. Here is what works best for me.

  • Writing consistently every day.
  • Not putting myself under undue pressure to create tip top content, just writing to a standard that I am happy with and considering that everything I write is work in progress.
  • Searching for inspiration, advice and networking with other writers. That means granting feedback and acknowledging others. The gift of connecting and having understanding, empathy etc.
  • Acknowledging feedback that I receive and expressing thanks for it. Any feedback and affirmation of a gift to treasure.
  • Remaining upbeat whilst not pretending that everything is great all the time. Sometimes we come across unexpected knock backs. I’ve written about loss in the past. It has it’s place and reflects reality.

I’ve been practising with some tips and widgets that others use. Whether they really work or not I confess I’m not entirely sure. Some are obvious, such as using other social media such as Facebook. That shows up in my stats. Here are others that I use more out of fun than anything else.

  • Advanced Marketing Institute Headline Analyser. This gives feedback and percentage score on trying out headlines. It’s interesting to play around with phrases for a headline.
  • Google adwords. This is useful for key words and tags. I don’t always use it, but again, it is fun to play around with.

Oh. That’s it. There were only 2!

If anyone has any other fun things they use to try to get more exposure, please let me know.

What do you do to keep motivated?

Final words today

Quantity is vanity, quality is sanity!

In the time that I been writing articles and surfing the internet, there have been been times when I have come across some really significant inspirational content. Music, stories and films that I have watched in the past that have had significant effect upon me. Lets call them “capture the moment” times that make a quantum shift in attitude. I’m going to list them here for you to peruse.

Now I really want your feedback on these. I know for certain that they are extremely likely to move you in some way. Maybe some will make the extra shift for you to get to the next stage in YOUR life chapter.

What is Motivation?

19 January 2011

I’m looking forward to tomorrow because I will be delivering a training workshop to staff that is intended to help people become motivated. The purpose is also to propagate this motivational energy so that it will snowball to others.

So what is motivation and how does it manifest?

Everyone experiences motivation to a greater or lesser degree in their lives. Difficulties occur when our motivation is low. Motivation is clearly linked to our emotions. Positive motivation is driven by our sense of well being and purpose in life.

It is most effective when it comes from the very centre of our individuality and being. If we know who we are and accept that we have value, we will be able to focus on that motivation and be less likely to be distracted by outside influences. I feel certain that famous people that have achieved amazing feats have that knowledge of value in life. A typical person would be Sir Edmund Hillary who conquered Mount Everest.

Having a confident sense of personal value must surely be the key to achieving goals.

So why does our motivation sometimes wane?

I think this is because the motivation is driven by some outside influence or source. Being motivated by seeking to prove somebody wrong may seem on the surface all well and good, however, there is a danger in this. When we come up against a challenge along the way, self talk may come in that says:

“Maybe the other person was not wrong about me. I’m going to fail and feel like a fool.”

It is quite possible that the other person will not think you a fool at all. If we are trying to prove someone wrong, then essentially our motivation is to attempt to make a fool out of the other person. Frankly, what purpose does that serve? It certainly has some sort of negative intention on our part.

Maybe the outside influence is to try to impress somebody. If we have personal value and are at peace with ourselves, surely there is no need to impress anyone else. Self value is far more powerful than any feedback that we get from anyone else. Of course, getting positive affirmations is important because they help to build and maintain a sense of personal value.

A few years ago, I became very enthusiastic and motivated by a business I got involved with. My motivation was driven to a certain extent by anger at having lost a job. It was my own sense of being wronged and wanting to prove that I could succeed. I got some limited success, but the driving (negative) energy source soon ran out. It ended with a breakdown of sorts where I felt I had failed. I felt I’d failed those who I love and care about. I felt that others would be disappointed by me and ultimately, I felt I had failed myself. The motivation did not come from my true self. I was even in denial about the fact I did not really believe in the product I was marketing!

When we feel enthusiastic and motivated about something, we can choose to evaluate where it comes from.

How much of it comes from the anticipation of receiving praise?

When we receive praise, are we able to accept it in a genuine and thankful manner that helps to build and maintain our personal and individual sense of value?

I write about this because it is a continued challenge on the journey of self discovery, self acceptance and sense of well being.

Be blessed folks…

Marty
