Live for the moment!

(Copied from my note book this morning.)

As I’m writing this, I am sitting in glorious sunshine in Seasalter waiting to go visit a marshes project to enquire about some conservation work.

This work will involve removing “floating water pennywort”, an invasive species not indigenous to the UK. It grows very quickly. It’s removal helps to protect rare species such as “water soldier”.

Today, and all this week we are experiencing unusually warm weather for April. It is much like the middle of June right now. I am leaning against my car listening to some jazz funk music from my car stereo whilst waiting for a meeting.

There are great benefits in living for the moment. This encourages attraction for similar life experiences of positivity for the future. I’m taking a few moments to record aspects of the “moment”.

The aroma of fresh warm air.

The clear blue sky.

The gentle breeze.

The sound of distant aircraft in the sky.

The sound of birds singing.

The sound of the occasional vehicle going by.

The pulsing sound of a helicopter.

The sound of children shrieking with delight at this time of school holidays.

The sound of crickets in the grass bank.

(a little later on the marshes) the “sound” of peace that is nature.

The next time you experience a moment of great joy, I recommend that you record it in your mind for recall at a later time, perhaps during a time of relaxation and meditation. It is a powerfully healing process.

Typing this up this evening, I’ve had a call from a band member informing me of some great feedback from our busking escapades last weekend. It looks like we have another prestigious gig coming up very soon as a result of many people enquiring at our local council, “Who were that great band that played? They were fantastic!”

I believe this has a lot to do with having a positive attitude that attracts positive opportunities. This has happened so much in the last year or so. It WORKS!

Do your eyes get really tired from reading as mine do?

Do you have trouble proof reading your own articles and get frustrated when you have missed a grammatical error in your content?

I’ve found a great way to overcome this. It is simple and very time saving. I recommend using text reading software. I’ve tested a product called Natural Reader. The voice produced on it is very easy on the ear. It is also very inexpensive. It saves so much time and effort stops that temptation to skip content, especially when reading an instructional article. You can just close you eyes and listen if you wish. Here is the link.

As if by magic, these words came to me about an hour ago, so I again engaged in a little research.

A deep seated desire in all humanity is to feel happy and content with our lives. I can’t imagine anyone disagreeing with that statement. It is something that we create in our minds. Well at least I know I do. I have mind pictures that detail what I see and how I am likely to feel.

The sight of a gentle sunset across the ocean after a warm summers day.
The sight of crisp and unbroken snow at dusk that displays a blue glow accompanied by the sound of silence.

These thoughts and feelings cause me to smile. A genuine and authentic smile, when directed at another person is attractive. This is more than just raising the muscles in the cheeks and flashing your teeth. It appears in the eyes. The pupils dilate and eyes twinkle like two shining stars in the night sky. I’ve experienced the smile of people and I find that it touches my soul. Often the smile is returned because I have smiled at somebody first. A genuine smile can grant peace an security. It expresses agape love

If you are seeking to feel happy and content, you can begin by keeping a good countenance in public.

Resolve to smile at somebody with generosity and see if they smile back. Of course some people will not and that is just fine. Pass them by. They may have troubles they are dealing with and the moment was not the right time. Continue on with your good countenance.

If somebody smiles at you with shining eyes and generosity, respond in kind. A passing comment in the street “Good afternoon” may just lighten somebodies day!

Day 5 of Mind Alchemy is a really interesting exercise. I’ve only managed just under half of it. All this ties in really well to the first 4 days work. If you have not already seen and engaged in the programme, you sign up for it click here.

“HEY MAN”

Bereavement causes such a powerful emotion of sadness. It is very much something that needs to be worked through.

How can we move forward in our lives without the sadness contaminating the rest of what we have?

The process is well written about but for me, the most important part is to treasure the precious memories of fun and happiness.

I lost a few people in my life last year, one in very tragic circumstances. To that end, I wrote with the assistance of the guys from the band Beggars’ Belief a song in tribute to this dear friend, remembering the fun, laughter and good times we had.
The song starts with a single bar of solo trombone melancholy, followed by a foot tapping, upbeat and uplifting tune.

I miss my pal, but choose to remember the good times we had that invariably involved real belly laughing that brought tears to our eyes.
Now THAT is a powerful healer folks!
Check out our song “Hey Man” below and see if the words relate to anyone you have known and lost.
Take care folks.
